Here at Gwynedd, we use a wide array of rehab modalities to help stroke patients regain their strength, mobility and independence – giving them a new lease on life.

Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of:

  • Expert Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists & Speech Language Pathologists
  • Specially Trained Nurses
  • Consulting Specialists
  • Mental Health Professionals
Did you know that stroke is the leading cause of serious adult disability in the United States?

At Gwynedd, intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapies are offered up to 7 days per week to help our residents recapture the skills they lost, whether it’s overcoming paralysis, dysphagia, or learning how to speak once again.

Anxiety, depression, anger, and frustration are just some of the emotions experienced by stroke survivors. Our team works together to facilitate the return of each resident to the daily activities they love, while providing the necessary psycho-social support so crucial to our residents’ wellbeing.

  • Physical Therapy uses training and exercises to help a patient relearn physical activities such as walking, sitting, standing, and lying down.
  • Occupational Therapy involves exercise and training to help residents relearn daily activities such as eating, drinking, dressing, bathing, cooking, reading, writing, and using a toilet.
  • Speech Therapy helps residents relearn language and speaking, including swallowing.
